Hi, I’m Deana (the one with the glasses that isn't Lindsay Straube)—book lover, color enthusiast, and the creator behind The Tabery, a small business based in Kansas City.

I’ve always found joy in the little details: the perfect bookmark, a color-coordinated shelf, or the soft crackle of a well-loved paperback. After a couple years of tabbing moments that made me feel, moments that I wanted to reread again and again, I realized that finding the tabs I wanted or the quantity I needed was leading me to buy so many tabs I didn't need. That and my love for reading has inspired me to open this shop!

The Tabery was born from the simple idea that reading is more than just flipping pages—it's an experience. And for many of us, it’s deeply personal. I wanted to create something that helps readers connect even more with the books they love. That’s why I wanted to offer custom book tabs, curated to match the colors, mood, and style of your book covers.

Every tab set is chosen with care. When you upload an image of your book, I don’t just pull random colors—I study the tones, the emotion, the vibe of the cover art. Whether it’s a bold fantasy cover with deep purples and golds or a cozy romance wrapped in soft pastels, your tabs are chosen to reflect the soul of that story. It’s like a little love letter to the book you're reading.

I hand select and package each order myself, often while listening to audiobooks. It means the world to me to know that something I’ve created ends up in the hands of fellow readers around the world—used in book clubs, study sessions, or quiet evenings at home.
